Content Based Image Retrieval |
|
Content-based image retrieval (CBIR), is the application of computer vision to the image retrieval problem, that is, the problem of searching for digital images in large databases. CBIR generally works by Querying using an example image or a part of an image. The underlying search algorithms may vary depending on the application, but result images should all share common elements with the provided example. The various criteria used for searching for similar images include- Color, Texture and Shape. By determining the same in the provided image and searching for similar such features in the database of images using similarity measures, it is possible to return images with similar content. The various uses of CBIR include-
We have experience on working on CBIR which was used as an underlying step in many projects such as License Plate Recognition Systems, Automatic Image Comparison for vehicle underside etc and similar applications. Our Imaging team was successful in implementing algorithms that were required by the system and worked well for the particular cases. |
