OKAPI Routing Platform
 
OKAPI Router combines the features, performance and reliability of an enterprise-class router, firewall and VPN with the cost savings and flexibility of open-source solutions. By leveraging the performance and economics of the x86 hardware ecosystem, it enable customers to grow their networks on a vastly more efficient cost curve and deliver twice the routing performance at half the price of proprietary vendor solutions.

OKAPI Router includes support for most commonly used network interfaces, industry standard routing and management protocols, and all of these features are configurable via a single command-line interface (CLI) or web-based graphical user interface (GUI). The integrated features and functionality make OKAPI Router ideal for SMB, Branch Office, Enterprise and Service Provider deployments ranging from the simplest LAN installations to E3 edge routing to internet wide BGP implementations.
 
 
Communication Protocols
Over the years, KritiKal has developed expertise in working with varied technologies and has the right mix to work on new and upcoming technologies like Zigbee and Wi-max. We have experience and expertise of working on 802.11b, GPRS/ GSM, infrared based communication, Wi-max and Zigbee etc.
    
 
 
  • 802.11b based networks: KritiKal has worked closely with technologies involved in deployment, configuration and security in 802.11b based networks. We have been closely associated with Readily-deployable Infrastructure based Wireless Mesh Networks that are a collection of zero-configurable access points and Wi-Fi terminal devices.
       
  • GPRS/GSM: KritiKal has developed and ported Point to Point Protocol on an arm based device which interacts with a GSM modem. APIs and libraries have been developed for SMS exchange through the GSM modem etc.
       
  • Infrared Based Communication: KritiKal has developed a communication protocol which is robust (capable of handling bit errors, re-transmissions etc), has low overheads and small stack sizes for the Infra-red medium. This communication module has been integrated in a car entry exit system.
       
  • ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 technology: KritiKal has full capability to develop systems using ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 technology. Any of the topologies (i.e. star, peer to peer or cluster) could be selected depending upon the application requirements. Zigbee stacks have small footprint (Full stack sizes are order of 32KB for an eight bit 8051 microcontroller) and maximize the battery life, thus are suited for sensors and simple control applications.
